The PVBA Board has established a Select Program that invites selected players in PVBA grades 3 through 7 to try out for a year-round basketball development program.  Playing under the name "PV Breakers", the Program has established initial tournament competition teams for players in the 14U (8th Grade) and 12U (6th Grade) divisions, as well as a foundational skills development team in the 11U (4th-5th Grade) division that does not play in tournament competitions.  As players complete their 5th Grade Winter PVBA Season, they graduate from the developmental team to a tournament team that will play regional age-group competition from throughout Southern California in various tournaments during the spring and fall seasons.  Practices are held year-round with the exception of August, but will not conflict with regular PVBA activities.  To be considered for the Select Program, all players must compete in regular PVBA seasons and reside in the Palos Verdes community.

The Program is led by coaches Mark Coffman, a 25-year NCAA basketball coach, John Schweisberger, the Frosh-Soph coach at Palos Verdes High School, and Brian Edelman, the Frosh-Soph coach at Redondo Union High School.
